Who says you can’t mix clay, sand, bronze, some desert dirt and sweat, a dash of glamour with a splash of avant-garde, critters, grit, yoga, and muscle into a grey-haired package? You just might be surprised!
About Cynthia Orsini-Dahl
Cynthia grew up in Southern Arizona, the daughter of a real estate broker and a football/track and field coach. Her world was wide open desert skies, cacti, horses, cattle, dance, art, and sports. She has been active her entire life in one aspect or another in the performing and fine arts…as a kid growing up, as an actress, a production assistant, a personal assistant, and as a muse once covered from head to toe in plaster of Paris for the sake of art! She has a passion for what the her ”eye” can see to share with the world and as a muse once covered from head to toe in plaster of Paris – all for the sake of art and creativity!
Cynthia delved into the world of commercial acting in earnest after an amazing experience working with an award-winning, commercial director in 2014. This break in addition to the opportunity of having worked for a well-known star’s manager in the 70s and 80s solidified the passion in Cynthia’s lifelong interest in the world of creativity and being part of the creative process! This manager’s wife who was also an internationally known artist and sculptress had encouraged her to follow her creative process for years. She saw what Cynthia the muse did not see. Creating shapes for artists is no different than visually creating for the eye of the director.
Having worked on a campaign with the message that women “Never Stop Owning It,” brought Cynthia back into her own creative spirit. Being the Boomer in the campaign gave her the platform to remind Lady Boomers to #OwnIt! Own ourselves, know our worth! We are the women of the generation that went outside “the box” and made life groovy … a “Happening,” being proud of who and what you are. We burned bras, challenged tradition, age-old beliefs, and standards, taught the “world to sing in perfect harmony” and challenged what we saw along with Richie Havens, Joan Baez, Peter, Paul and Mary, Janis, Gladys, Marvin, and Jimmy Hendrix. We’ve got legs and still need to use them! I tell my girls #NeverStop” as I have no intention of stopping come hell or high water regardless of the “box’s” limitations!
As a wellness enthusiast, Cynthia was surrounded by family and marriage that embraced the wellness and physical fitness lifestyle. Her foundation is based on lessons from her father an All-American athlete and coach as well as her former husband, John, of a world-class powerlifter. They both stressed the importance of breathing, total body balance, and awareness as an athlete seeking to increase strength, a team member focus, and power. She incorporated this understanding into her fitness regimen and yogic practice she began as a way to repair some of the damage done to a young body she never thought would age as most athletically, fitness-minded people have a tendency to do.
As a result of her yogic practice, Cynthia became certified as a Traditional Yoga Therapy Instructor and has been sharing her knowledge of balance, breathing, and meditation with people of all ages from all walks of life who have the desire to organically create a multi-level awareness to navigate life’s challenges, especially in today’s world. Cultivating your awareness of your being’s network of connections that make up YOU, helps you “Be Vital to Stay Vital!”
